A wrist watch is not worth a gift

A friend who came home from working abroad told me that she bought an expensive wrist watch for her daughter. It was an extravagant gift costing around $5,000 which is already a fortune in our country. Well, as I said to her, that gift is not worth the money because the wrist watch is already going obsolete and is now considered just like a jewelry. After a month, I got the news that the watch wouldn't work anymore because her daughter went to the beach and had the watch wet with sea water. So sad, that's big money down the drain.
