Are the encyclopedia volumes worthless now?

My uncle who has a set of encyclopedia spent big money for that collection. That is where I do my research when I was a student. In our country only the rich can have an encyclopedia set at home. Now that we are in the digital age what happens to those old books? Do they still have a value? Even our good old dictionary has no use anymore because it is quicker and more accurate to use the internet for the word meanings.

Now everything is available at the click of the mouse. So people no longer need to own bulky volumes of encyclopedia that takes up lot of space. I am seeing more and more such hardly used volumes of richly illustrated encyclopedia in used books stores.
