Big discounts when you travel abroad

I received an offer from my favorite airline of their travel promo. You pay the ticket now and you travel 6 months from now. The discount is almost 40% of the regular plane ticket fare. Come to think of it. If we book a trip now what would happen if the pandemic is still raging by that time? I did that before when our November 2020 trip to South Korea was cancelled. I rebooked the flight to June 2021 and again it was cancelled a month before the flight date.

Anyway, it's not advisable to book a place six months before your trip because anything can happen. The discounts are very tempting but you shouldn't rush for it.
