Health expenses

Our Christmas budget was affected after one member of my family got sick. Now that we are grown, our ages don't allow us to receive free treatment using our parents health card for the hospital. This means money is to be paid in cash.

How do you make sure you have enough money set aside for health expenses?

This topic makes me realize that I do not have a health card. My wife was covered by the benefit of their office. I once bought a health card that costs $80 for 1 year. But during that year I did not even see a doctor because I was well with my health. Since then I never even thought of getting a health card. Now that I am a senior maybe it is high time to consider a medical insurance so that when I get sick my family will not worry about the expenses.

When I was still working I had a health care insurance that cares everything for my medical needs and when I retired I got back my money in form of return of investment.

I never thought it is possible to get all your returns from health insurance. I'll find out if this is possible in my country so I can take my own health insurance. I currently have a NHIF medical card that is required in my country for all employees but I stopped contributing to it when my job ended. But I don't think it's possible to get all my contributionsvas returns with this card.

A medical insurance is a good investment. You will have made the right decision when you decide to take it. It will always cover any future illnesses that you may experience.

In my case, after completing the 20-year endowment plan for the said Insurance, I received its return of investment. Not only me but my wife and youngest son too for I got an insurance for them. Meaning I am paying three insurance premium every month since the premium is affordable.

That's about P250 when converted to our Philippine currency. That means I have a cheap monthly insurance premium too for that is the amount I'm paying for my insurance too.

In my country, we normally have a cheap health insurance, which we contribute like$5 monthly.
Same here too, the cheapest we can contribute for health insurance is $5 especially for people who are self employed or unemployed. For those employed by the government, the health contribution is automatically deducted from their salary depending on the range of their salary.

That's what the employers are doing here with their emoloyees. They deducted the premium of security insurance from their respective employees every month.

Hey there! I know it's been a while since this post was made, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on this topic. Health expenses can definitely put a strain on our budgets, especially when unexpected situations arise.
