Investing in an apartment

The title of this thread is my dream investment. An apartment earns you the rental of the occupants and at the same time the value of the property increases over time. As we call it here, that is an investment that can never lose. It is true that you have the advantage with the apartment. My problem now is that my wife does not want to buy a property anymore. She said that we just have to make do with our home and invest the money elsewhere.
