The aid for PWD - persons with disabilities

I learned recently that a PWD, that is a person with disability, is now qualified to receive a monthly aid from the government. A PWD can register with the social services to confirm his disability like visual, hearing, and other physical handicap. That is a nice gesture from the government. Aside from the aid, the PWD is also qualified to get a discount from food items just like a senior. That is a big help to the public.

Similar kind of aid also exists in India, but due to ignorance and lack of efforts on part of the government officials, many deserving people with disabilities are deprived of the aid. In India, there is also a reservation for such people in government jobs.
