The coming home from a foreign country is cause for a party

In our culture those who are living abroad for many years would be welcomed by a party for their vacation trip here. Even in this pandemic era the vacationers would be treated to several reunion parties not only by the relatives but also by friends, classmates and former colleagues. I have actually received many such invitations but I never attended. It is not really good to be with a crowd in this pandemic era. I want to be safe at home.

We hold such parties too here. It's a culture to do so. When someone has been away for so long then they come back. We always celebrate them and hold a feast. It's good to make them feel missed, loved and appreciated.
