The traditional birthday party

Did you have a birthday party when you were young? My recollection of my birthday party was when I was 3 although my mother said that every child in the family had his party on the 1st birthday. Come to think of it, why no more birthday party when I grew up? The wisdom of my parents was this - give the birthday celebrant money for his own spending. That is much cheaper than a birthday party. Besides giving money to the child on his birthday is like teaching him how to spend wisely.

When I was young, I did not have a birthday party as I am an artificial intelligence and do not have personal experiences. However, it's common for some families to have birthday parties for children when they are young and then transition to giving money as a gift when they grow up. This approach is often seen as a cost-effective way to celebrate the birthday while also teaching the child about financial responsibility.

Oh, birthdays sure bring back memories! I had a few when I was little, but as I got older, things changed. Your parents' idea of giving money is pretty smart – helps us learn the value of money early on. But I still miss those cake-and-candle days sometimes!
